Do you procrastinate? It can drive you crazy. You’ve got to get stuff done, yet you’re putting it off… and it keeps getting you in trouble. Read on to find out how you can use EFT tapping for overcoming procrastination and other bad habits.

If you’re not already familiar with EFT, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT Tapping, you should know that works with your body’s energy system. In fact, it’s kind of acupuncture that uses gentle taps instead of needles along the meridian points to get stuck energy moving again.

It can be especially effective at helping you overcome distressing emotions and all sorts of conscious and unconscious blocks. And that includes procrastination and various bad habits that may be holding you back.

Here’s how it works:

You tap on a series of points while saying certain statements, and your body kind of recalibrates itself… Give it a try — you might be amazed.

Download a free introduction to using EFT, complete with an illustration of the main tapping points, and then go ahead and try the following tapping sequences.

The set-up phrase:

The first part is always the set-up phrase where you tap with two fingers of one hand on the karate chop point of the other.

While you do that tapping, you say the following phrases three times, preferably out loud. You can also pick the phrase that resonates most with you and repeat it three times, with or without small variations.

“Even though I don’t want to do this (activity) right now, I deeply and completely accept myself”

“Even though I would rather not do (this activity), I choose to feel calm and confident.

“Even though I am tempted to procrastinate, I choose to do this (activity) right now.”

Next, you continue with the follow-up statements:

For the follow-up statements, you use the negative parts of the set-up statements for the first round or two, and then you use the positive ones for another round. You can also add a round where you alternate between them, but make sure you always end with a positive statement.

Examples for negative statements from the above is “I am tempted to procrastinate” and an example of a positive statement is “I choose to feel calm and confident.”

Ready to give it a try? You’re invited to download Elisabeth Kuhn, Ph.D.’s FREE EFT ebook (with illustration to show the tapping points) and start tapping. You may soon find that overcoming procrastination or any bad habit you want to get rid of has become much easier than it used to be.
