ARE YOU BEING ABUSED

By: Dorothy Lafrinere

This is another one of what I call HUSH WORDS which I recently did a

write up on in my selfesteem site which seemed to have the most views.

So I thought I would share it with my article readers also.

ABUSE is definitely a hush word. Why is it we are already grown up

when we finally address certain abuses we have experienced in life?

Abuse knows no color, age, gender or relationship. It is a human action

that can either create a stronger us or a weaker us. Which one are

you?

How many types of abuse are there?

How have you battled abuse in your life?

Are you still being abused?

Do you know anyone that is being abused and want to help them but feel

your hands are tied?

Do you constantly find reason to fault yourself for the abuse you have

endured or still are enduring?

Do you know that there is help and hope for you?

Is being happy not a good feeling?

Being here is a first step to many things to make a stronger, better,

happier and more peaceful you. Ladies please feel free to share your

pains and fear. We are all human and we are all in need of some type

of support. From me to you, this site is my gift and maybe a small

step to making you feel not so alone.

Live life like you mean it and Keep Smiling. When I mentioned "here" I

was referring to my site, womensselfesteem.com.

I have met so many women through my site and oter sites and they are

all victims of some type of abuse. I have not even touched the many

ways people are abused in the world.

Control is another form of abuse that a lot of women deal with in

either their life as a child or their relationships. That is when

their self-esteem gets totally put to the test. If one does not have a

strong self-esteem they will allow others to control them.

Why, we ask do they do that. Well I beleive it is so much easier for

some to allow it then to fight it. It is also a form of security for

them. They can depend on that control to guide them otherwise they

would have to be their own controller.

Food is a good example. A member on my site shared with us, that she

realized that one of the reasons she kept on the great amount of

weight she gained after her children, was so she had a reason to stay

depressed. These are her words, "If I stay large I know it makes me

unhappy so I can say I am unhappy because of my weight.....therefore

if I lost weight I'd have to be happy and I really don't know how to

do that."

I am also reading a book ,"CRACK DWELLERS" at the moment sent to me

by a women who was so intrigued by the realness of my site that she

sent me her first of a three part series. If you would like to see

our write up on her book, CLICK HERE.

Her book deals a lot with food as being her security, she allows it

to control her to keep her from feeling something that she misses in

her life, I will not tell you to many details as the book is a must to

read.

As in any abuse, people have a hard time identifying with the fact

that they are victims of abuse. It becomes a way of life that until

they really notice that it is NOT a way of life, do they start to

search for answers or help. Or they feel afraid to deal with life

without the control that the abuse had over them.

How do we tell people that they are being abused, well we can just do

that, "tell them", but chances are great that they would deny it and

you possibly would lose a freind. It is like any addiction or self-

destruction, one must see it for themselves in order to change it.

Not to encouraging is it. Nope, but thats why so many good doctors

and therapists and just ordinary people like myself that genuinely

care about others, write books and blogs and spend many hours creating

sites like, www.womensselfesteem.com. We do it because we know that

just maybe someone out there will read our articles and will finally

look at their life and do something to gain their respect back, before

their self-esteem is so low down they can never possibly see getting

it up again.

Abuse is an ugly word and I call it a HUSH WORD because noone talks

about it.

People we need to bring all these words out in the open, there is so

much help out here for you. And YES you can do it and YES you can live

a good life without it. To beat any issue we fight inside ourselves or

in our daily lives is a HUGE step to a better you, a stronger you, a

much more beautiful you. When one is free they soar like a bird and

nothing is more beautiful than a bird soaring through the sky feeling

the wind in its wings, so people get free and soar as high as you can.

On that thought of beauty, I will leave you with your thoughts!

SOAR BABY SOAR UP TO THE HIGHEST SKY!!!!
