One of the many things I love about direct sales is the fact that moms really can stay home with their kids and work too. But even better as your kids grow older you can involve them in the business with you and not only get some great help (cheap too) but train them with some fabulous business skills as well.

I was going to write an article on this myself but since it was about involving children in the business with you, I decided to do just that and have my youngest daugher tell me the ways she enjoys working our family business together.

So here you go, straight from the mouth of a great direct sales helper is Tara’s 12 Ways To Help Your Mom With Her Home Based Business:

My mother has many home-based businesses, and having two daughters to teach and train, a home to keep clean, and all the cares and responsibilities of a mother, running a home-based business can be difficult! As her child, I can help her run her businesses and lighten her load! Here are some ways you can help your mom with her home-based business:

• Work the checkbook
• Help with computer and paper work – my sister trained herself to work on the computer and that is a great help to my mom.
• Put together packets to be mailed
• Do her filing
• Program people into the computer, so the can receive your mom’s auto responder.
• Train yourself to take business calls and give out information about the business
• Go with her to the parties and act as her assistant
• Pack for the parties and unpack after the parties are finished
• Take inventory of her stock
• Pass out flyers in the neighborhood
• Proof read your mom’s website and point out any mistakes so she can fix them
• Help around the house so your mom is free to work her business without worrying if she will have time to vacuum the carpet.

This is just a small list, but there are so many more ways to help! Don’t wait for your mom to ask you to do something, but rather offer to help. I encourage you to start helping your mom and relieve her of part of her load. Who knows but that you will be rewarded in the end for your work!

This is the mom again… see how wonderful it is? Your kids will really enjoy being involved and start to take ownership of the business with you. Plus it’s just plain fun to work with your favorite people in the whole world!
